A nourishing midwinter feast to honour your Lioness heart — to remind you that courage and creativity can live in every bite you craft with care.

This simple, beautiful taco ritual is an act of devotion to your creative self — inspired by Frida’s colours, Mexico’s heat, and Leo’s radiant heart.

It’s a plate of sunshine on a cold day: each ingredient rooted in the earth yet spiced to stir your spirit awake. As you roast your pumpkin, you’re feeding your inner sun — a reminder that even in the depths of winter, you hold a spark that can’t be snuffed out.

As you build each taco with your hands, you’re crafting your own resilience and celebrating the sweetness of your life, piece by piece.

Frida turned her daily pain into art — let these tacos be a small but powerful way to turn everyday food into a reminder that you can make beauty from whatever life hands you.

🌮 Ingredients & Their Magic

  • ½ medium Kent or Jap pumpkin, peeled, seeds removed, cut into 2–3cm cubes

    – Sun-fed harvest: warmth, abundance, grounding.

  • 2 tbsp olive oil

    – Flow, protection, helps life move smoothly.

  • 1½ tsp smoked paprika

    – Sparks passion, fire element, ignites inner flame.

  • 1 tsp ground cumin

    – Ancient courage, warmth, protective energy.

  • 1 x 400g can black beans, drained and rinsed

    – Resilience, inner strength, nourishment.

  • 8 small soft corn tortillas

    – Community, wholeness, holding it all together.

  • ½ small red onion, thinly sliced

    – Clarity, truth-telling, warding off unwanted energy.

  • Handful of fresh coriander (cilantro), chopped

    – Fresh ideas, mental renewal, invites bright thoughts.

  • 50g feta or soft goat cheese, crumbled

    – Softness, comfort, soul nourishment.

  • 1 lime, cut into wedges

    – Zest for life, cleansing, lifts the spirit.

  • Sea salt & black pepper, to taste

Optional: Chilli flakes or fresh sliced chilli, for extra fire.

🔥 Method

  1. Preheat your oven to 200°C (390°F).

  2. Prepare your pumpkin: Place pumpkin cubes on a baking tray lined with baking paper. Drizzle with olive oil, sprinkle with smoked paprika, cumin, salt and pepper. Toss well to coat, whispering:

“May this sun-fed harvest feed my spirit with courage and sweetness.”

  3. Roast pumpkin for 25–30 minutes or until golden and tender, turning once halfway through.

  4. Warm your tortillas: Wrap in foil and place in the oven for the last 5–10 minutes, or warm them gently in a dry pan just before serving.

  5. Prepare toppings: Drain and rinse the black beans, finely slice the onion, chop the coriander, and crumble the feta.

  6. Assemble your tacos: Place warm pumpkin and black beans on each tortilla. Add onion, coriander, feta. Squeeze over fresh lime juice and sprinkle extra chilli if you like a bit more bite.

  7. Create a mini altar: Light a golden candle, place a flower near your plate, take a moment of gratitude. Eat slowly, as an act of courage and creativity.

Spell & Ritual

Each bite is an invitation to awaken your inner fire. Hold the taco in your hands like a tiny canvas — a piece of edible art, made with your love and intention. Let every flavour remind you: you can make beauty from whatever life hands you.
