Pink roses, lavender, scroll, candle, butterfly, and stars on a pastel background; text: Gemini Season, Whispers on the Wind.
I breathe in curiosity and exhale clarity. I honour every thought, every feeling, every version of me. I am whole in motion and steady in change.

May 21 – June 20

Element: Air

Modality: Mutable

Ruler: Mercury

Theme: Curiosity, Communication, Duality, Movement

Gemini Season arrives like a breath of fresh air—light, quick, and full of ideas. After the earthy sensuality of Taurus, we begin to shift. Thoughts begin to spark. The mood lifts. The world feels a little faster, more changeable, more alive with possibility.

Where Taurus rooted us in our senses, Gemini lifts us into the space of mind, movement, and expression. This season is about following curiosity, asking questions, and learning through contrast. Gemini doesn’t demand certainty—it delights in the dance of ideas.

The Medicine of Gemini

Gemini isn’t here to pin things down.

It’s here to connect them.

At its best, Gemini energy gathers fragments and makes them whole. It notices patterns. It collects ideas, memories, snippets of conversation, pages torn from old books, and half-finished poems—and somehow, they all become a story.

Geminis can walk into a chaotic room (sometimes one they’ve created) and see not just the mess, but the meaning. They know how to sort, select, and reframe. They’re visual storytellers, knowledge gatherers, and natural teachers—not always because they’ve studied something deeply, but because they pay attention.

There’s a wisdom in their lightness.

A clarity in their play.

A brilliance in their willingness to keep learning.

In many ways, the work I do in the Inner Circle reflects these Gemini traits—teaching, listening, offering reflections, and holding space for evolving conversations. I don’t have all the answers, but I love creating spaces where we can explore the questions.

Living with Gemini Energy

You may feel:

  • Inspired to write, read, or share

  • Pulled in different directions—scattered but excited

  • More socially open or mentally stimulated

  • A little ungrounded or overwhelmed by too many thoughts

This is especially true during the colder months here in the Southern Hemisphere. Gemini season can stir the mind, even as the body wants to stay warm and still. And when movement is limited, we may feel more anxious or mentally agitated. This is the shadow of air—when too much thought clutters the space and we forget to breathe.

But Gemini brings a remedy: breath, connection, and story.

Not to escape the mind, but to guide it gently back home.

Southern Hemisphere Reflection

Gemini Season in Australia falls in late autumn and early winter, as we begin moving toward the Winter Solstice (June 21). The nights lengthen, the days grow shorter, and we naturally draw inward.

This brings a different flavour to the Gemini archetype. In the Northern Hemisphere, Gemini season is a time of movement and light—outdoor adventures, social gatherings, and expansive energy. But here, we’re navigating darker days, colder weather, and often more time alone.

This shift can stir up restlessness or even seasonal depression. I personally believe that part of the winter heaviness many Australians feel is due to this disconnection from celebration and connection during the darker months. That’s why it’s so important to gather, to connect, and to share warmth and light intentionally.

While the world quiets down, Gemini reminds us that the mind still needs movement. That we need stories, conversations, and simple moments of curiosity. Even a chat with a friend, a book that sparks a new idea, or a gentle walk in a new part of your neighbourhood can bring balance.

As we reach the Solstice, I always mark the moment with family. We feast, reflect, and honour the turning of the wheel. Let this be a reminder that even in the darkest time of the year, connection and joy are still available.

Gemini’s Gifts

  • Magnetic conversationalists

  • Natural storytellers and teachers

  • Curious, quick, and clever

  • Adaptable and open-minded

  • Able to hold paradox with ease

  • Deep listeners and delightful communicators

  • Great and often quirky sense of humour

  • Youthful energy and enthusiasm

They teach us that wisdom doesn’t have to be serious. That insight can arrive through laughter. That duality doesn’t mean indecision—it means possibility.

Element of Gemini: Air 💨

Air is connection.

It’s the whisper between thoughts.

The idea before it becomes a plan.

The breath that links us all.

Air reminds us to stay open—to listen, learn, and speak with intention. It teaches us how to shift gently with the wind, rather than resist it. It’s the element of intuition, communication, and clarity.

This is why rituals for Gemini season often involve the voice, the breath, the hands, and the mind. This is a beautiful time to explore writing, crafting, speaking, or simply following where your curiosity leads.

A Personal Note…

I’ve always had a deep connection to Gemini—my Sun is in Gemini, tucked into the quiet, intuitive space of the 12th house. It’s a placement that invites me to explore the hidden corners of thought, to find magic in language, and to let my curiosity lead me inward before it reaches out.

It’s not a loud Gemini.

It’s a softly spoken one.

A whisper in the early morning.

A question carried by the wind.

A truth discovered in solitude.

When I was at school, I would flit from one social group to another—never staying in the same place or with the same people for too long. Some may have seen it as fickle, but it was more a result of boredom arriving quickly. The moment I felt disconnected, I would also feel deeply alone—and that’s a very 12th house Gemini trait. I didn’t want to belong for belonging’s sake. I was always searching for something meaningful, for resonance, for insight.

Even then, I was someone who listened to all the different conversations around me and absorbed the intimate details: how people sat, how their hands moved, what they wore, the energy they gave off. I would almost always forget their name, but I would remember their presence, their expression, their essence. It wasn’t about facts—it was about feeling. That’s how Gemini energy moves in me: a constant collection of details, of stories, of impressions that don’t need to be filed neatly, just gathered and honoured.

Gemini energy runs through my chart and through my life in many ways. My Ayurvedic dosha is Vata—ruled by air and ether—and now, in the post-menopausal years, I find myself in the Vata stage of life too. The air element is something I live. I breathe it, teach it, and often need to ground it with quiet rituals and embodied presence.

This season often brings me back to myself—reminding me that thoughtfulness is not the same as overthinking, and that my gifts lie in listening, sharing, and weaving meaning through words.

Seasonal Ritual: A Curiosity Walk

This is a simple practice for the Gemini season—light-hearted and nourishing. You don’t need anything fancy. Just your senses, your breath, and a willingness to notice.

Choose a neighbourhood, track, or park you don’t usually visit. Let it be somewhere new or unfamiliar, even if it’s close to home. It could be a local bushwalk, a quiet side street, or even a shopping centre if that’s what’s accessible.

Set out on a curiosity walk. Use your senses to tune in—what do you see, hear, touch, smell? Run your fingers over tree bark or fabrics in a shop. Notice colours, signs, plants, patterns. Let yourself wander with no agenda.

When you return home, make a warm drink. Sit quietly and jot down three things that sparked your curiosity. Noticed textures? Unexpected smells? A strange thought that came to you? Let this be a soft place for Gemini’s mental buzz to land.

  3. What truth am I ready to speak or write?

  4. How can I bring more lightness into my daily rhythm?

  5. What stories do I carry—and which ones am I ready to rewrite?
