The Awen Room glowed with candlelight, laughter, and the deep presence of women holding space for each other. We shared, released, cried, laughed, set intentions, and savoured a feast of seasonal soul food—pumpkin soup, vegan chili, apple crumble, fresh bread, and sweet treats.

My heart is so full. I feel truly nourished by this community of wise, tender, powerful women.

This golden autumn afternoon, I’ve been tending to my home—not just dusting and fluffing cushions, but shifting the energy, weaving a little everyday magic into the space where I live, rest, and dream.

My sister @amysgrandpacat and I have been chatting about rugs for months and months, both of us stuck in indecision. We’ve had ours for so long, and with our busy lives—her with three children, me with three cats and a dog—we’ve both been craving a lift, a little refresh to breathe new life into our homes.

I’ve finally succumbed to the magic of Instagram advertising (because honestly, who hasn’t seen an ad for Ruggable rugs?), and after much hesitation, I chose one. And as soon as I laid it down, I could feel the shift—like opening a door, like breathing fresh air into the bones of my home. It’s funny how a simple change, a bit of rearranging, a sweep of the broom (both literal and energetic), can make everything feel new again.

Lighting a candle, burning oils, pausing to just be in the space I’ve reset—it’s like a deep exhale for the soul. A home is more than walls and furniture; it’s a living, breathing energy field that holds us, reflects us, and, when we tend to it with care, nourishes us in return.

As the days grow colder, I feel myself settling in—ready for slow evenings by the fire, for curling up with a book or my knitting, for the gentle turning inward that autumn always brings. This season asks us to gather, to reflect, to let our homes hold us in their warmth and wisdom.

Sometimes, you just have to dance the wacky out.

After a day of all the things—fridge repairs, unexpected errands, forgotten shopping lists, and last-minute menu changes—there comes a moment where you either let the chaos win… or you shake it off (literally). So here I am, in my tracksuit pants, covered in cooking spills, hair undone, dancing in my lounge room like nobody’s watching.

Not because I’m a good dancer (I’m really not), but because it shifts my energy. Because laughter, movement, and a little bit of silliness remind me that I don’t have to take everything so seriously. And because, ultimately, we get to choose what we tune into.

Closer to my intimate world, my family, the small moments that matter most.

Today is International Women’s Day and also my daughter’s 24th birthday. My beautiful Helena is celebrating on the other side of the world, in Ushuaia, the southernmost town on Earth, before setting sail to Antarctica. It feels so strange to be here while she embarks on this incredible journey alone, but if there’s anyone who embodies courage, strength, and resilience, it’s her.

A few years ago, Helena recorded this message as part of a project, and I can’t think of a better time to share it. Her words—Take a breath and smile because you are beautiful and the world deserves you—feel more relevant than ever. Not just for her on her birthday, but for all of us.

But sometimes, the best way to handle exhaustion is to match it—push just a little bit further, make sure both mind and body are equally spent, and then surrender to the kind of deep, soul-nourishing sleep that only comes when you’ve well and truly earned it.

A few months ago, I farewelled my son as he set off for Guernsey. Tomorrow, I say another big goodbye—this time to my daughter, who is off to Antarctica. Can you believe it? Antarctica.

She’s heading through South America, sailing down to the ice, then back up again via Easter Island. And she’s doing it alone—the independent, incredible human that she is. She was born on International Women’s Day, which feels fitting. She’s always known exactly who she is, always chased what she wants with fierce determination.

I’ve knitted her a snood to keep her cosy while she’s there—something versatile, warm, and filled with love. A little piece of home to carry with her.

I feel a bit sick, to be honest. Excited for her, but also overwhelmed by how far she’s going. And on Monday, both of my children will be in the sky at the same time, flying to opposite sides of the world. Thankfully, on Tuesday, I’ll be picking up my six-foot-four baby boy from the airport for the biggest hug. It will be so good to have him home.

To my darling girl—may this journey bring you everything you dream of. Adventure, magic, rest, new perspectives. You deserve it all. Stay safe, have fun, and know that I love you more than words can say.

Today was pure magic. ✨🐴

I started my morning with a few hours of work, then spent the afternoon on horseback, riding through the most breathtaking valleys in Thredbo. And not just with any horse—Bones was a wild Brumby, rescued and rehabilitated after being found emaciated and on death’s door. He was too friendly to be released back into the wild, so he stayed—and now he’s this bold, curious, in-your-face character who wants to say hello to everyone. Honestly, he reminded me of me as a kid. 😆💛

It had been years since I last rode, but as soon as I was in the saddle, all those childhood memories of horses, country life, and my family’s deep love for them came rushing back. Bones was an absolute dream—gentle, responsive, and so well cared for. The entire ride was done with the lightest touch, no harsh cues, just trust and connection. We stopped in a valley to watch the cows (my god, they were divine 🐄), and in that moment, everything felt so perfectly aligned.

Back at camp, I finished my day with a big walk, a home-cooked meal, and now I’m sitting here watching the sun sink behind the mountains. 🌄 It was almost a perfect day… but let’s be honest, a perfect day requires a cat. And since Mr. Mojo isn’t here with me, it’s just slightly less than perfect. 🐈✨

Tomorrow, I’m hiking to the top of Mount Kosciuszko before wrapping up my final hours of work on Awen’s Inner Circle—a deeply nourishing program that launches at the Autumn Equinox & Aries Season. The timing feels like pure serendipity. 🔥🍂

I can’t wait to share this with you. This is me, putting my whole self—my magic, my wisdom, my experiences—out there. Everything I have learned, everything I practice, everything I am is going into this offering, and I hope it brings as much magic to your life as it has to mine. ✨🕯
